Destiny 100 was born in 2006 when Julie Skinner set out with a mission to help individuals and companies fulfill their vision and achieve their dreams. Through studying corporate soft skills, company cultures and systems as well as the lives of successful people, Julie identified key components of success, which she encapsulated in the 7 Keys To Success. Building on this cornerstone, Julie created Destiny Workshops and coaching services. Since neuroscience indicates that combining right and left brain activities produces better, longer lasting results, Julie mingled both in her hands-on workshops. Though she got rave reviews, in private conversations, people confided that they weren’t where they wanted to be because they had reacted to circumstances rather than making deliberate, intentional choices. Realizing that true success is deeply personal and unique to each individual or business led Julie to seek even more effective strategies for achieving diverse definitions of success. This sparked the development of The Power To Choose. The Power To Choose is a transformative approach to making decisions aimed at helping businesses and individuals achieve their goals. It empowers you to take charge and make informed choices that lead to enduring success. While The Power To Choose is our flagship program, each and every course, class and session we offer is designed to keep you engaged so you can apply, use and retain what you learn. Helping others. Arts and science. The great outdoors. "In elementary school," says Julie, "I invited a classmate who didn’t do well in math to my house after school to help him with his homework. I wanted him to experience being proud, giving right answers instead of wrong, embarrassing ones." From an early age, Julie wanted to help people succeed. In fourth grade, she discovered her artistic talent and love for music. That summer, she wrote a play that the neighborhood kids performed. “It was fun,” she says, “gathering props, practicing, and selling tickets door-to-door.” A couple of years later, studying the moon’s rotation triggered her interest in science, research and learning. "Throughout those early years," Julie says, "I wandered through the woods behind our family home, inhaling the wonder of nature, waded in the creek, and picked wildflowers in the springtime. Nature became my friend." Her resilience was tested days after her 17th birthday when she was in an auto accident. She was sewn and wired back together and put in a body cast. Months later, she had to learn to walk again. All this deepened her desire to help others which became a lifetime theme. Coming full circle from childhood to today, Julie continues to help others and trademarked the phrase Giving Value And Worth To People On Earth® She builds course content using neuroscience and research. She is an oil painter and says, “There’s nothing like a walk in the woods, or sitting beside a stream to calm the soul.” As for the kid who struggled with math?
